I have been flying and teaching helicopters for 30 years. I was lucky to have an instructor, John Simone Jr. He was the National Helicopter Champion at the time. This is a similar practice session for those of you who would like to learn 4 channel helis. My steps are simple. Use tiny inputs, keep nose into the wind. Don’t fly behind or around you, and don’t let your friends watch you when learning. They expect way more, being unaware that just hovering a 4 channel helicopter is most …

YES this vid helped me so much!

  2. gtokarsk

Yes and no. It is same version that you keep once you purchase, but it requires a license key to stay working for more than the minute or 2 initially enabled.
In my mind very worth the $40….

As always a good video! It’s nice to see you display the sticks in clear view. You’ve shown it before using a real radio, but it’s not the same as seeing it done on the same screen so one can just watch few times and really pay attention to the stick movements. Thx a bunch!
If you ever get time to do some slow circles and figure 8 flying with sticks visible it would be great. Altitude control while transitioning turn/turn or turn/straight is a huge challenge to me, so is flying slow.. :)
    Thx!

is the download version just a demo

Hi i just buyid a Peonix Rc simulator and i noticed that ur able to nightfly on it and its really cool but this summer ive been flying my airplanes and i need to get to fly my honeybee king 2 more and the pheonix sim has taht model in there so i will be training all winter so this really helps me thank you

  7. XysflightchampX

    shure…

  8. copperheadno2

stick will give the rotors pitch and will start to blow downward and create thrust and the heli will start to lift off, the more you push it upwards, the more thrust is created and the faster and higher the heli will travel…hope all of that helps, sorry my comments are so long, just trying to help you the best i can

  9. copperheadno2

the collective pitch means the swash plate is being pushed up and down, the whole plate not just pivoting like the cyclic does, and that makes the rotor blades twist and creates more or less thrust or more or less wind, if you’ve ever seen a 3d heli sit on the ground with the motors at full throttle then it shoots up in the sky all of a sudden, that is what the collective pitch does, at 0 pitch or no collectiv pitch the rotors are completly level and wont create any wind, pushing up on the left

  10. copperheadno2

i forgot to explain cyclic too…cyclic is only controlled by the right stick and pivots the swash plate foward and back and left and right. Now for the collective pitch, on most 3d hellis it is separate from the throttle and the throttle is controlled by the throttle trim and the motors will stay one speed now on some 3d hellis they are combined so the left stick will work the collective and the throttle….now to explain collective more detailed….

  11. SpecMaster1

okay, i got it. except for one part. what is collective pitch?

  12. copperheadno2

and pulling back on the right stick will make the heli go backwards, moving the stick left and right will make the heli dip to the left and right and slid sideways left and right. hope these 2 comments helps you specmaster1…i have a blade cx2 its a 4 channel..its broke now so yea i cant fly very well yet lol but i love it and i love your vids too nightflyyer

  13. copperheadno2

the left stick is used for the throttle and collective pitch on 3d hellis but for coaxial or non-3d hellis its just used for trottle and the collective pitch is fixed, thats moving the stick up and down. moving it left and right works the tail rotor and makes the nose of the heli rotate left and right or clockwise and counter clockwise. the right stick is used for the cyclic, pushing it up will make the nose drop down and the heli will start flying foward, pulling it back will make the tail drop

Uncle Dave I hope you send me a good one the last one you gave me was very nice. You just used it so much you worn it out. Oh well thanks Uncle Dave.

  15. AxsFin

I think I used to have that same problem. Not sure why it started working later on. Try installing it to c: ?

  16. SpecMaster1

i watched it again and i think i got it.
the Left stick controls: when moving up and down, it controls the throttle; when moving left and right, it controls the rotation (yaw).
Right stick: when moving up and down, it controls the pitch; when moving right to left, it controls the strafe (roll).
    Right?

  17. SpecMaster1

im new to this so i have a couple questions.
    1. You used the word cylic (or something like that), what does that mean?
    2. With 4 CH flying, what do each of the sticks do? Like the L/R stick.
    3. To wrap it up, i suggest you make a video on technical terms.
    Thx!

the falcon 40 you showed there is two kind the old style and the new 2.4 review both or them because some of us has the old ones

  19. XysflightchampX

  20. Afrocanuk

That heli looks exactly like my Concept 30SX.

  21. GTOsixOhh

also RealFlight has made a “basic” flight simulator thats a bit cheaper than the 4.5g

  22. riztar

what about a hovercraft for winter?

  23. d3jsp

sweet! nice to see a gide of this kind

  24. bear3103

Dave as always your video’s are informative and extremely helpfull. I will try to find the clearview sim down here in Australia and as you say practice, practice, practice.

    Cheers

    Alan
