A beautiful scale turbine-powered heli has a hard landing at the 2007 ANZAC jet meeting held in Tokoroa NZ. No major harm done, was flying again later in the day

you see, with fuel, its either running or its not, there is really no in between like an electric heli.
I don’t know for sure, but It looks to me that he is not that experienced with heli flying. He had plenty or RPMs to land that smoothly, but he forced it to the ground too fast it appears. He couldn’t even turn the tail of the heli any way but toward him. It looks like someone learning on their first helicopter this video.
It was “a very bad landing”…
Not “out of fuel”.
This thing wasn’t out of fuel.. would also be very strange, being out of fuel 3 mins after takeoff. The pilot doesn’t have the skills to fly this helicopter. It is demonstrated earlier when he starts a turn but then doesn’t have the guts to turn the tail around.
You can clearly see it picking up forward speed on the passage. To reduce speed, the pilot pulls nick.. this results in altitude loss which either wasn’t compensated or not enough. The turbine is still running after it’s on the ground.
lol thanks for pointing that out 02bash
geld für ne turbine aber nicht für nen anständigen scalekopf….
trotzdem 5daumen hoch
large scale are more fun
Good thing that heli is a doctor! LOL
at the end you see the red plane just roll by like it was saying “ha ha”
why can’t people just stick with small scale?
i liked the look of the red thing at the end
I think he needs a lot more practice before flying something expensive!
no. it was spinning partly from momentum and partly from auto-rotation like a maple seed.
hahaha i gave it thumbs down
Wow, some serious ignorance here..
The pilot was an amateur. He was barely maintaining a tail in hover and was not doing a good job at maintaining altitude, either. The thing did not run out of fuel; the idiot pilot didn’t flare hard enough. It is remotely possible that it was experiencing some kind of mech. issues, but in that case the guy was, again, showing his inexperience by flying in front of observers.
Go ahead, prove your own ignorance by giving this post a thumbs down, too..
Gas, glow, turbine, etc do not work like electric. Either there’s gas and you’re in the air, or there’s no gas and your on the ground. Just because you’re flying on a small amount of gas doesn’t mean that your heli wont get as much power. However, with batteries you are gradually losing power the whole flight. If you fly until you don’t have enough power to stay in the air, you can seriously damage your batteries. (and your heli if the voltage drops off quickly like on the Blade 400)
I’ve only ever flown RC battery powered toy helicopters, but why are the crappy coaxials crappy?
My rc heli is not coaxial.
a gi joe doll mabye lol
the jet was trying to say,”Hey!!! Dude you suck!!!! Do you even have a license? Well, i do!!!! And i am a jet you lil sucker!!”
lol, you’re right…………
hahahah any one else spot the sneaky jet driveby after it crashed???? best part of the video
he didn’t run out of fuel. he ran out of common sense and put it down to hard, period. i have flown turbines now for several years and i know what running a turbine dry sounds like plus you almost can’t buy equipment for turbines that don’t come with low fuel warnings which if he few around all those people with his alarm buzzing than he is an idiot, but i don’t think he did due to the fact that no one was moving away from it and they would have also known. naaah, simple pilot error.
then don’t watch the videos your retard. no one is forcing you. you’re getting mad at yourself…..people-are-dumb.
is that the red plane from the other crash video?
i wouldnt see why not.
