Part 1 of our new EPP Park Jet Build. In this video we briefly discuss the use of EPP as compared to Depron or Foamboard. Also included are flight videos of some previous EPP Scratch Built Park Flyers Link to good Motor at Hobby City/ Hobby King: www.hobbycity.com This is a good powerful and cost effective motor. Rated at 180 watts. This is the motor on the monkey Plane.

i want 2 buy your plan but i am leaving in pakistan
i have an EPP plane!!! its awesome!!!indestructible!! XD
thas is amazing..I want one of those
:D
what makes this thing fly?
Thanks a millll for you help!!!
Keep it up, i love your work!!!
Best regards.
BERELEAH, 15mm is aboput .59 inches or just a little more than 1/2 and inch. As for glue there are a few options. You Can use 5-minute Epoxy, Hot Glue, Goop or Foam Safe CA glue. I think I used 5-min Epoxy on my model. A lot of people like GOOp because it is a little flexible and give a little before it breaks. it does take longer to dry though. Epoxy, CA or Hot glue is faster. Hope that helps.
Hi rcFoamFighters. I must tell you that i love this plane its cool, nice job! Keep up the good work!!! I want to build one for myself. I just have a few more questions, if you dont mind. 1) How much is 15mm when converted to inches? 2) And what glue is best that i use to glue the parts together after i cut them out? As you did in the video.
hey if you guys have another vid series could you number it like you did on these ones. i just watched the bulletprrof build along and it makes it a little harder to find the right vid. you guys are some of the best, always reply to youtube comments and really pay a lot of attention to anything you do. keep it up!
cool….
what is epp like.?.. like bluecore?
codeengine, we usually use a table top hot wire cutter to cut out the main pieces. Then use a handheld hotwire tool to cut the rough shapes and last finish off the surfaces with a Rasp and/or fine grit sanding block. Please see the new featured video on our channel, it shows the table top hotwire tool.
what do u use to cut the foam
scomafarlanec07, you can still do barrel rolls very easily. The elevons still work like ailerons. Please see some of the other planes we have videos of. The EPP jet does rolls in video 6 and also the Novajet, delta jet, monkey plane and others we have videos of are good examples of elevon planes.
alright thanks that makes it much clearer now. but does that mean that you can’t do barrel roles in the air? and also, could i make one that is about half the size of yours or wouldn’t that work?
Thanks. Great that you want to build your own plane. I would first recommend doing some research on some internet Forums. Also if you have a local hobby shopit is a good place to start. As for a plane with Elevons (mix of Ailerons & Elevator functions.) When you turn one goes up one goes down. When you pull up they both move up and down, both down. To turn its usually a little of both up and left or right. Not sure if thats clear, but hope it helps.
Smooth? Are asking about the final surface finish? That is actually just tape. Colored Sealing tape. Its cheap and easy to use.
hey rcfoamfighters. i’m 15 and i want to make my own rc plane and i’m pretty new to the scene so i don’t really know much about what i’m doing but i saw your planes and they looked awesome so i wanna make on of them. i don’t really under stand how your plane turns and stuff because you only have elevators at the back?
How did you make it so smooth?
droogkloot,
I’m not sure what you mean by replacement material. I would think though any light, fiberous material would work. A light nylon mesh would probably work good too. Thats the fun of scratch building, you can try whatever you want and see what works best. And EPP is very tough even without a covering too. remember to test out whatever glue or adhesive you will use. Some will eat the foam up. Good luck!
Paul
btw does it has to be fiberglass or can i use a replacement material??
droogkloot,
I do not have formal plans for the plane yet. Actually this has been more of a Free Flow Design, just making it up as I go. Also sorry, I am not sure where to get these materials there in Euorope. Maybe some of our other European viewers can comment an help you out.
Thanks for the comment,
Paul
Hi Paul, when will the plans of this plane come online?
or is this plane used for the build along series?
BTW on which site can i buy henry weave and m3 90? ( i live in holland and we don’t have any of that kind of materials for sale at our hardware shops)
it would be really helpfull (at least for me) for other people who don’t live in the US to post links for the materials needed.
can’t wait to begin with the airplane.
Thanks!
Oké thanks, i look forward to it
enjoy the rest of your vacation.
droogloot666 thanks for the comment. I do not have any formal plans for the park jet I am making in this video, at least not yet. I am on vacation now, but when I get back home on Thursday i will try and see if i can get you the dimensions and or basic outline for you. Thanks,
Paul (rcfoamfighters)
